The Haas VF-4 vertical machining center has 50" x 20" x 25" (1,270 x 508 x 635 mm) xyz travels and is built utilizing all American-made cast-iron components. The Haas VF-4 is a rugged, medium-sized VMC that yields full reliability and accuracy in a moderately-sized machine. The VF-4 has a 40-taper cartridge spindle driven by a 20 hp vector Dual-Drive (Y-Delta) motor. The VF-4 produces either 75 ft-lb of torque at a low 1,200 rpm, or 250 ft-lb at 450 rpm with the optional 2-speed gearbox -- and will also run up to 7,500 rpm in 1.2 seconds for finishing aluminum. With a long list of standard features and high-productivity options (many sold in discounted packages), the Haas VF-4 is one of the best values available today.

VF-4/APC

Increase productivity and run your Haas unattended by ordering your VF-4 equipped with the Haas heavy-duty Automatic Pallet Changer (APC). The Haas APC is a side-loading pallet changer featuring two 19" x 40" (483 x 1,016 mm) steel pallets (additional pallets are available). The heavy cast-iron base of the APC is secured directly to the VMC for stability, eliminating the need for further anchoring.

The APC allows non-machining tasks, such as fixture setups and part changeovers, to be performed off-line on one pallet while parts are being machined on the other pallet. With both pallets loaded, the VMC may be run unattended. This integrated system requires minimal training and runs seamlessly from the VMC’s control.
